Forest Creek Animal Hospital is a progressive, small animal hospital that provides high quality veterinary medical and surgical services. In addition, we also offer boarding, grooming, and both general and specialized nutrition for your dogs and cats. We know how important it is to have a veterinary clinic and staff that you can trust for your beloved animal companions, and our goal is to provide a warm and inviting atmosphere and the best care possible for those special pets in your life.
At Forest Creek Animal Hospital, our goal is to provide the highest quality medicine for your small animal companions. We work to keep our clients informed and educated about their pets’ health care, and always strive to be compassionate and attentive to our clients and their pets. Our highly trained staff is here because they love animals, and we truly want to be the animal hospital you can trust for your four-legged family members.
Meet our Doctors
Dr. Clifford PeckDr. Clifford Peck opened Forest Creek Animal Hospital in October of 2000. A native Austinite, he attended Crockett High School and went to Texas A&M University for his undergraduate and veterinary education. After attaining his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M in 1987, Dr. Peck practiced veterinary medicine in Houston for twelve years before moving back home to Austin. Dr. Peck enjoys fishing, water and snow skiing, and spending time with his family. He has a wife and three kids, two Labrador retrievers: Rocket and Penny, and a cat, Starr.
Dr. Amber BreclawDr. Amber Breclaw joined the staff at Forest Creek Animal Hospital in June 2008. She grew up in Houston, TX and went to Texas A&M University for her undergraduate and veterinary school. Dr. Breclaw graduated cum laude with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. After practicing veterinary medicine for a year in North Austin, she has now made Round Rock her home. Dr. Breclaw enjoys music, reading, going out to eat, and spending time with her family and friends. She and her husband, Jarrod, have two adorable children: Collin, who was born in July 2009, and Claire, born in May 2011. Dr. Breclaw has been a volunteer for the Guide Dogs of Texas and raised and helped train a puppy named Jinx, who is currently working as a guide dog. Currently, her pets include a three-legged Chihuahua mix named Bailey, and a black lab (and retired quide dog) named Milo.
Dr. Amy KunzeDr. Amy Kunze has been practicing at Forest Creek Animal Hospital since August 2005. A native of Kansas City, she received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University in 2000. After completing vet school, Dr. Kunze practiced in Christiansburg, VA prior to moving to Austin. In their spare time, Dr. Kunze and her husband Chris (also Dr. Kunze), enjoy outdoor activities in and around Austin, especially boating and waterskiing on Lake Austin. The Kunzes have a wonderful son, Nathaniel, who was born in April 2006. They also have their own collection of pets at home, including Chester, a golden retriever, two cats- Chevy and Pixie, and a rabbit named Lily.
Dr. David Shaffer
Dr. David Shaffer has been with Forest Creek Animal Hospital since June 2005. He was born and raised in Corpus Christi, TX. Dr. Shaffer graduated with his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University in 1987 and was a classmate, roommate, and friend of Dr. Peck. Dr. Shaffer has also practiced veterinary medicine for twelve years in Corpus Christi and three years in Fort Worth. He recently moved back to Corpus Christi, but he still comes back to work at Forest Creek Animal Hospital a few days every month. Dr. Shaffer enjoys most outdoor activities, including boating and fishing, as well as movies, reading, and talk-sports radio. Dr. Shaffer has two lovely daughters, Hannah and Reilly. He also has four, four-legged children: two Labrador retrievers named Gunner and George, a Yorkshire terrier named Lexy, and a cat named Carlos.
Dr. Lisa LaBryDr. Lisa LaBry began practicing at Forest Creek Animal Hospital in August 2009. A southern Louisiana native, she attended Louisiana State University for her undergraduate studies and veterinary school. Dr. LaBry obtained her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in May 2005. She was a small animal practitioner for four years in Las Vegas prior to moving to Round Rock in 2009. In her spare time, Dr. LaBry enjoys gardening, reading, and spending time outdoors with her dogs. Dr. LaBry shares her home with her lab mix, Bubba, her husky-mix, Mika, and 3 cats, Beanie, Mouser, and Asia.
James Swanson is our hospital manager and has been working off and on at Forest Creek Animal Hospital since 2001. James attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado and volunteered with Wolf Rescue and the Rocky Mountain Raptor Center for two years. He then moved back to Austin and joined the staff at Forest Creek as a veterinary technician in 2003. James also worked at an emergency animal hospital and at a veterinary dermatologist’s office to gain experience before becoming the hospital manager at Forest Creek Animal Hospital in January 2006. He especially enjoys communicating with and educating our clients about their pets. James enjoys movies, tennis, and exploring new restaurants around Austin. He has a french bulldog named Jacques and a boxer named Remington (“Remi”).
Meet Our Staff
Angel Abbott is our technician supervisor and has been at Forest Creek Animal Hospital since January 2007. She has been a veterinary technician since 2001 and worked at two different veterinary hospitals in Houston before joining us here. She especially loves the day-to-day challenge and high pace of the veterinary field. Angel was born and raised in Stillwater, OK and is an avid crossword puzzler. She and her husband, Jeremy, have two dogs: a Shepherd mix, Darcy, and an adorable Chihuahua, Jasmine, as well as three mischievous cats, Butch, Vincent, and Riley.
Meredith Nelson, RVT is a registered veterinary technician and joined the staff at Forest Creek Animal Hospital in August 2008. She grew up in Alpine, TX and received her bachelor’s degree in Animal Health Management and her associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology at Sul Ross State University in August 2007. She has worked as a veterinary technician for two years prior to working at FCAH and moved to Austin, TX after graduating from college. Meredith enjoys reading, acting, and spending time with her two cats, Agador and Ember.
Kellie-Rae Passarelli is a lead receptionist and has been with Forest Creek Animal Hospital since June 2007. A native of Plano, TX, she has been in the veterinary field since 2002, three and a half years of which were spent at an emergency animal hospital. Kellie-Rae and her husband George have a beautiful little girl, Averie, who was born in January 2009. They have four cats- Ginger, Piper, Cleo, and Sonoma.
Lindsay Kennon, RVT is a registered veterinary technician who joined the Forest Creek Animal Hospital staff in August of 2009. She grew up in Georgetown, Texas where she worked with her father, who is a veterinarian, at his animal hospital. Lindsay received a veterinary technology degree and an RVT license from Cedar Valley College in May 2009. After graduation, she worked at a small animal emergency hospital in Anchorage, Alaska before coming to work at Forest Creek. In her spare time, Lindsay enjoys reading and outdoor activities. She has two dogs, a red heeler named Layla, and a blue heeler/Australian shepherd mix named Blue.
Ashton Satchwell joined the Forest Creek Animal Hospital staff in September 2008, and is our receptionist supervisor. Ashton is a native Texan but grew up in Denver, Colorado, where he went to school at Metro State. He moved to Round Rock in 2008 and has a Philosophy degree from Austin Community College. In his spare time, Ashton enjoys performing and recording as a singer in a local band. He has 2 cats, Indie and Meatball.
Karen Shepard joined the Forest Creek staff as a receptionist in July 2012. Having grown up in a military family, she was born in Japan and has traveled and lived all over the world. She went to school in California and Texas and has degrees in Aesthetics and in Fashion Merchandising and Marketing. Karen has worked in the veterinary field for over 6 years, and is passionate about helping people with their animals. Outside of the office, Karen loves painting, photography and hiking with her 2 dogs: a Lab named Holly and a Basset Hound named Waffles.
Nicole Koch Nicole Koch started working at Forest Creek in April 2012 as a technician assistant. She graduated from Lexington High School, and is currently studying business through the University of Phoenix. Nicole loves the variety and challenges that working with animals brings. Her hobbies include singing, riding horses, and roping. Nicole has a Chihuahua names Sugar.
Dayna Desposito joined the Forest Creek staff as a receptionist in March 2013. She grew up in Massachusetts and majored in communications and writing at Keene State in New Hampshire. This is Dayna’s first job in the veterinary field, and she loves seeing and working with all our animal patients. Dayna has a Siberian Husky named Rocky, and she enjoys hiking, reading, and all other outdoor activities.
Grant Jones joined our staff in January 2013 as a technician assistant. He is also currently studying Wildlife Management at Austin Community College. Grant loves working with the variety of cases and animals we see on a daily basis at Forest Creek Animal Hospital. Outside of work, he enjoys all outdoor activities and sports. Grant has 2 dogs, Jake and Harley.
Roy Hernandez has been a kennel technician at Forest Creek since June 2010. He also works part time as an animal control officer with the Pflugerville police department. Roy’s favorite part of his job is working with the animals we see every day. His hobbies include fixing computers and spending time with his daughter, Alexa. Roy also has 2 chihuahuas: Gabby and DiDi.
Amor Callihan joined Forest Creek as a technician in October 2010. She has worked in the veterinary field since 2008, and is currently taking classes at Austin Community College. Amor's favorite aspect of her job is being part of the healing process for our patients. Outside of work, Amor enjoys reading, exercising, spending time with her husband and family, and taking her Shepherd mix, Osyrys, to the park.
Meet Our GroomerCambri Brade joined Forest Creek Animal Hospital as a professional groomer in August 2007. Her skills as a groomer have been self taught and she has been grooming animals since 2003. She started grooming horses in high school and then worked with dogs and cats. She was a groomer at PetsMart and PetCo for six years prior to coming to Forest Creek, including 2 years of management over the PetCo grooming salon. Cambri enjoys the country life with her horses and dogs. She recently married her high school sweetheart.
